Post Mid-years

Ok the hellish week finally draws close to end, at least for most of us:)

And it's time to revive this blog and get things ahead. Yes, there are alot of CIC things to settle and the influx of emails are probably spoiling your appetites. So, I'll try to list out everything so that everyone will have a clearer picture of what's going on and which direction we're heading towards. Anyway get your cokes and popcorns ready because this is going to be LOOOOOONNGGG:

Current projects

OCIP
Ok, this one like not much news and based on Lixuan's last email I think it's mostly waiting. Therefore i think the OCIP comm should be quite free now so you all try to help out with the rest like PROJECT HEARTS comm:)

Operation Home Works
Ok, this one also quite seasonal one and if I am not wrong the comm should have gone through at least one time of the actual thing already. OHW comm maybe you can update the rest of us on what's going on since most if not all of us are going to undertake it somehow some day. So if you all need to change your members please give early notice and stuff.

Project Hearts
Since I am in this comm might as well take the time now to tell you all what's going on (You can choose to skip or don't skip this part. Of course I hope you won't since you all are nice people and appreciate my effort:) ).

It started out out as this "Inspire" thing by YMCA-CitiBank undertaken by this group of RJC J3s. SO they are given $5K and have to invest this cash to raise $50K for this charity called Very Special Arts(VSA) which helps disabled people by teaching them some basic art skills. So they are using a series of different mediums to raise to get the donations. So we are sort of liasing with them to sell pledges. We sell hearts at $2 so people can write a message on the hearts for these people(mainly children i think) and stick it on a big board. It's sort of like the brick wall thing we did for UNR. Anyway what we have to do is to prepare all the necessary things like cutting of the hearts and getting volunteers and stuff. Basically it's like what we did for UNR pre-events sale. And on the day we would be manning the booths.(Just like UNR style again:) ).
Pertaining to this, please DO NOT skip the following message:

IMPORTANT: Anyone wants to do Project Hearts this Saturday and next as volunteers? It's 28June & 5 July. Kelly, Stephanie and I did it and it was FUN:) Cause mainly they short of people lah. You can get your friends along to do too. 1 more thing. Next Tuesday, please bring as many coloured papers as you can find, just get those lying around your house that are not being constructive. No need to be so fancy or as good as new and also don't bring too thin the pieces. Because we need to cut the hearts out for Project Hearts. Everyone, please do your part:)

Announcements On Monday

That's all for the things we are organising. Next is a list of things we have to publicise on Monday. For details please refer to your emails.

-Charity Mass Skipping 5th July South East Community Sports Festival
-Recruitment of Volunteers for a newspaper collection 5July NUS
-Save the Greenback Turtle Campaign 5 July St Pat (This one super important because Mrs Ang specify must do be cause it affects diplomacy between neighbours)
-Thank the VJC UNR participants & facilitators for their support in making UNR a success.

Ya, that's alot of announcements to make and Ciyi suggested live ad or something and Ciyi will be booking the assembly slot tomorrow. And I just realised everything's on the 5th.LoL

Misc

- 1st, Lixuan suggested doing a thankyou card to HFH (specifically HweeKiang &gang and Ivy & gang). Ya, so I think we'll just go ahead with it, get a thankyou card then sign it off as VJCIC 0708 & 0809 batch.

- 2nd, we need to reestablish the good ties we have with mercy relief. So maybe the OCIP comm if you all are free can you all get the cool dude's contact from the seniors then contact him to see whether we all can do a project with them in lieu of National Day or something.

- 3rd, I SMSed YongFeng after we did PAH to thank him and I have also asked him for the photos already. I will send to the rest of you including the participants once he does so cause I think he's still quite busy sorting the things out? As for CIP hours ( I know we do not do CIP just for the hours:) ), I will try to confirm with him as other VJ people also did the CIP so must account for it.

-4th, we'll need people to help out with the CIC board and I don't want just a few people to be doing it as ALL should be involved so MAYBE we will do it next meeting depending whether we have time or not since we are all SUPER BUSY people now.

-5th, as you all know, the plans for next week remains a mystery as people are speculating feeling fab or e-learning day to be next week and stuff like that. In the event that we can't meet on Tue, we will still meet someday.

-6th, we need people to sell turtles on Tuesday. Please tell me the times you all can do, you all can do in pairs or triplets or quads if you all like. So please tag the times you want to do on the tagboard over to your left of the screen. somewhere around ...
<-There
So, TAG TAG TAG TAG TAG. What's a tagboard for mann.

-7th, and MOST IMPORTANT. Keep 5th-7th July free because you know why. All AWOL will be severely dealt with by... erm ... you will find out when I think of someone.

Next Tuesday's Meeting
TENTATIVELY, we won't be breaking up into our comms to discuss maybe except for Project Hearts people. So what we should be doing could be the notice board( If the design is out by then) and helping to cut out paper hearts so please contribute coloured paper generously ( not so thin ones) or live ad or whatever. But please check the blog on MONDAY 30/6 for updates.

Man this post just claimed 1hour of my life. Anyway, to all the H1 Chinese people, all the best for your last paper and for Oral:)
To everyone, all the best on your results:)

NSL:)

( To Ciyi: NSL for Nil Sine Labore NOT North South Line)
