Hello fellow J1s.

here are the general overview of the ocip organizations details.


Habitat for Humanity
Individual cost- $550.
Team cost- $6000+( for the whole team)

Singapore International Foundation
no longer do such projects.

YMCA
2 trips to China(Shanghai and somewhere near Mongolia)
1 trip to Cambodia.
more details are with those in charge.


World Vision

  • many trips to southeast asian countries, but all planning are to be done by ourselves. funding too.

    National Youth Council
    provide funding only. can subsidise 50% if we go for 14days.must do pre and post activities( for more details,ask those in charge) . require an adult of 21yrs old or older and a leader of 17 to 18 yrs old(if im not wrong).


    Mercy Relief
    trips to China, India, Indonesia.
    about 14 days.
    $2000 per person. include airfare,accomodation,funding.
    eg of trip is on poverty reduction project-- build irrigation system, provide health or education helps. 'teach' farmers how to increase crop yield.

    Operation Hope Foundation
    trip to Cambodia.
    7 to 10 days.
    about $400-500 per person.

    aye, the Operation Hope Foundation paper is with me. it says:

    - 42 pax (3 dorms)
    - 6 days
    - Costs S$20000 (excluding airfares)
    - Costs abt S$446.20 per pax (excluding airfares)
    - Activities include:
    (a) constructing rainwater harvesting system OR
    (b) constructing highway
